I just ordered and downloaded your plans for sandblaster fixes…there was a second step (additional information) that I could not get back to. Is there a way to get to that?
Thanks,
Kevin

Eric, Looking for the plans for making a pencil style blaster you featured on your web site/letter some time ago. Is it still available?
I have a question. I am planning to buy a unit sometime next year. I have look at the one with built in pressure pot and dust collection system. Some claim to be air tight so none of the dust gets out. I want to put in garage. The problem is exposure. Not only for myself but I have animals. Do you know how well insulated they are as far as the dust. Thanks
Wesley
@ Wesley, I haven’t tested all the main cabinet brands out there, but if you have a dust collector, and abrasive approved for blasting (no-silica), you honestly should be fine with even the lower cost brands in my opinion.
In my experience, even a well insulated cabinet will still create a small mess of abrasive and dust when opening and closing the door. Don’t know how close your animals are, but if they are 10+ feet away, they will probably be fine.
If you are very concerned about it, you can always spend a few dollars on caulking the edges for a perfect seal.
Eric,
I have a Harbor Freight 110 lb pressure media blaster. I bought your e-book on fixes sometime back and I am planning to make the mod you suggest to improve the abrasive flow. In the meantime I am having a problem that maybe you can help with. I would like to be able to use Black Diamond abrasive media as it is available at my local Tractor Supply and it is reasonably priced. However, even the fine Black Diamond (30 – 60 grit size) requires a 3/16 nozzle. The largest ceramic nozzle that came with my blaster is 3.6 mm which is about 1/8 inch. Do you know where I could purchase a blast nozzle for my blaster that could provide a 3/16 nozzle? Or, what media could I use with the 3.6 mm nozzle that came with my blaster. My compressor is a 5 – HP with an 80 gal tank. It provides 18.1 cfm at 90 psi and 21 cfm at 40 psi.
Thanks,
Jim Guthrie
Mr. Eric,
I wish if you write about the different abrasives used in the industry, explaining the grades And to choose the right ones. Also to determine it the abrasives are reusable or not

Could you check my subscription? When I click “Module 1 it says I am at the wrong module. Can only access everything by clicking on RSS feed button. Is there a better way to contact you?
Thanks,

@Susan, I apologize for that issue. I found the problem and it should now be fixed. Sorry about that. Please let me know if you have any questions by posting in the comments or via email. I always get notifications via comments the same as emails.
Eric,
Thank you, issue is fixed. 🙂 I did manage to access the information, but was concerned the issue might prevent me from accessing future modules. This module covered information I was looking for which included paint, adhesives, and sandmask brands. Appreciate all the money saving tips you have included. Looking forward to the next module. 🙂
@Susan- great! Thank you so much for your patience. I will be sure to test it more thoroughly once I am complete with Module 2 and post. I hope to have videos in the future too. It is a work in progress and feel free to ask any questions which will help me shape the training area too.
Hi, can you tell me what would work for sandblasting stucco and paint off of cinder blocks from an old house to prepare for demolition?

Hi Eric,
I am into sand blasting of glass. I started doing this as something i want to get into on my retirement this year. I have a table top sandblasting cabinet, a compressor, a uv light exposure unit and a cricut explore air 2 cutter. I am really working towards the ability to blast fine details especially fonts. Can you offer any advice on stencil cutting materials ? I have tried photoresist film, sandblast resist vinyl and now oracal 651. I am not getting the type of perfection i desire.
Peter

@ Tom, yes that is for the mini sandblaster here: https://www.sandblasterinfo.com/sandblaster-manual/mini-plans/
I actually improved these quite a bit yesterday and removed some unnecessary parts so it is cheaper and easier to make.
I placed part of the instructions on the blog to make the new pencil style nozzle: https://www.sandblasterinfo.com/how-to-make-mini-sandblaster-pen-nozzle/
