Whether you sandblast for a hobby or income, one popular idea is to sandcarve an address into a rock which is displayed on people’s front yards. It is a great way to add some uniqueness to landscaping projects while helping to mark the address on people’s home. The address rock shown above with the hummingbird is a recent project I carved. You can also carve customized company logos into a landscape rock for businesses as a unique sign. I occasionally see companies have this which takes the place of their sign.
I am currently putting together a tutorial on how I did this project utilizing a cutter in the training member’s area, which should be available soon. It will discuss what type of cutter is needed and goes through all the steps from stencil to end project.
In this project, I did the following:
- Found a design using my unique search techniques
- Converted it to the proper format easily with the suggested free software
- Cut the stencil out automatically with lower cost cutters
- Sandblasted it
- And added proper paint
