A visitor recently asked me a question about a unit some guy he saw that combined his system with a pressure washer for carving into rocks.
Pressure washers can be converted with kits to create a type of wet blaster as explained here: https://www.sandblasterinfo.com/pressure-washer-sandblasting/.
They are mainly used to get better cleaning power out of pressure washers for stuff like cleaning decks, removing graffiti and stuff like that. It is an interesting way to sandblast without the use of an air compressor.
I’ve never tested these types of sandblasters for rock carving but I imagine it wouldn’t work very well because the added water might flip the stencil edges over easier. It is worth a try though.
Idea of Combining Pressure Pot Sandblaster Next to Power Washer Nozzle
If his question was related to combining a pressure pot sandblaster nozzle with a pressure washer nozzle in tandem next to each other, that is a good idea overall. But also still is a concern with washing away the stencil.
Anyone tried this?
Now, for anyone else out there, have you tried using this method with carving/etching designs with stencils into rocks or even glass? If you have, please leave a comment below about how it worked out and if there were any issues.
