Robbie,Eric,
Was considering building a pressure sandblaster and found you on the web. One question I have is air compressor ratings. What do I need for a pressure blaster in terms of pressure vs volume.I am doing automobile restoration and need enough to clean frames and bodies. I have a siphon style cabinet for small stuff, but need an open air unit for the big parts.

Please see my air compressor air pressure chart here.
In addition to the pressure & volume, you also have to factor in the size of the nozzle you’re using. The chart connects nozzle size, pressure, and volume when selecting the right air compressor. But it is always recommended to get a compressor with the next nozzle size up because they can wear out fairly quick.- Which brings me to my next suggestion- I recommend people to get a carbide nozzle tip because they’re actually more cost effective than ceramic tips in the long run.
