Recently, I set out to design an affordable, but long lasting nozzle that would allow the abrasive to be adjustable. What I did was combined the variable flow footswitch idea with the idea from this nozzle set up, shown on Amazon here. So this new one is the best of both of these.
I wanted to create this post to both give you the idea in case you wanted to make your own and offer it to you for a discount of $10 off. But you may find out that some of the supplies I use are of higher quality than what might be found at local stores.
Here are some details about it:
- This kit contains the nozzle & ceramic tip, adjustable clamp valve, downsized hose and reducer kit
- Every metal part that touches the abrasive is galvanized or stainless steel for long lasting preventative wear and rust resistance
- The 1/4″ downsized hose is for lower volume blasting (for many garage sized cabinets)
- I am a fan of this because it replaces those big and cumbersome hoses so it is easier to handle.
- Hose is an abrasive resistant, high quality, long lasting special type of tube (you won’t find it at the hardware store– I do not suggest most of their tubes for sandblasting!)
- Setup only works with pressure pots
- Works by using a large clamp to pinch the hose so the air pressure or amount of abrasive is reduced at various levels from your fingertips
- Temporarily allows the nozzle to be shut off by pinching it fully closed
