Eric
I had a question about this rock with a hole in it? Did they sandblast the hole? Do you know ? Guess ?
They get $4 for a rock with a hole in it. I have lots of rocks
Many thanks Jim
Jim,
You could sandblast a hole through them but I am not sure if they used a sandblaster. It could be sandblasted, but I would think there is a more cost effective way to do it such as using diamond cutting or concrete type drill bits.
Maybe they pre-drilled a small hole first and then used a sandblaster to make it slightly larger with a smoother surface. That would be more practical. Using fine sandblasting abrasive such as 180 grit will make the surface smooth as shown in the picture. So I am not sure exactly how it was done, but maybe those suggestions will help.
if you are using 180 grit on rock, what grit would be used on heavey steel, like rims 1/8 to 3/8 plate, i bought this stuff called black beauty, first tried a silica sand, what a wast
It depends on how rusty the metal is and how quick you want to clean it. For heavy rust, a course grit would be better.
silica sand is cheap and works great but you need alot and i mean alot of power.
